Masaud Jahromi
In 2011, Dr. Jahromi, who was previously Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Ahlia University’s College of Mathematical Sciences and Information Technology and holds a PhD in Telecommunication Networking from the University of Kent at Canterbury, United Kingdom, was sentenced in 2011 to four months of prison and a fine of 500 dinars for participating in “unauthorized rallies” during protests. He served his sentence and was eventually restored to his position at Ahlia University. There were no additional allegations or evidence that he violated any law since that time.

Our Previous Activities
Nevertheless, on January 31, 2015, Bahrain revoked Jahromi’s citizenship following an unsubstantiated accusation of “advocating regime change through illegal means”. He was notified in early 2016 that he would be deported shortly. At that time, Dr. Jahromi appealed the deportation decision. The appeal was heard on March 6th. The Bahrainian government refused his appeal and Dr. Jahromi has recently been deported to Beirut, Lebanon, where he is staying with a friend. He will need to depart Beirut within six months, so a quick placement is critical.
At this time, Dr. Jahromi is in need of a country that will take him in and a place of employment. If anyone has contacts that are able to facilitate a job for Dr. Jahromi please notify CCS and we can provide his current CV and assistance in working with him. His wife is also seeking employment and has an IT degree. Her CV is available as well.
