February 13, 2026
You are cordially invited to the Annual Meeting of the Committee of Concerned Scientists (CCS), which will take place virtually, on Sunday, March 8th.
Meeting will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST via Zoom. The meeting is open to the general public, and we encourage you to share this invitation with colleagues who may be interested in the activities of the CCS (see the 2025 CCS Case Report here).
After the introduction of the CCS and our two speakers, each speaker will give an approximately 25-minute presentation. After both presentations, there will be an approximately 20-minute Q&A session.
We are delighted to have the following speakers this year:
1. Vida Mehrannia, a chemist, a mother of two children, and the wife of Dr. Ahmadreza Djalali – a Swedish-Iranian citizen who has been imprisoned in Iran since 2016. Since his arrest, she has led a continuous campaign for his release, hoping one day to reuniting the family in Sweden.
2. Dr. Asma Nairi, a Tunisian lawyer, cultural anthropologist and human rights researcher who serves as the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional Manager for the International Detention Coalition, focusing on refugee rights, migration, and social integration issues. She was awarded the Mellon Foundation fellowship on academic freedom for 2026.
We would appreciate it if you could let us know whether you plan to attend by RSVPing to Edyta Greer at emgreer@concernedscientists.org by February 16th, 2026.
You will receive a Zoom link closer to the day of the meeting.
We do hope you can attend, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Sincerely,
Edyta Greer
Executive Director
