Cambridge Student Detained in South Sudan Pardoned and Released

Peter Biar Ajak, a Ph.D. student who was critical of his country’s government was arrested in July 2018 in South Sudan. He was sentenced to two years in prison. Student and Community Activist Arrested in South Sudan

Peter Biar Ajak, the first citizen from South Sudan to study at Cambridge, was arrested on July 28th at the Juba airport and detained.
