Russian historian of Stalin’s mass graves has two years added to jail sentence

Yury Alexeyevich Dmitriev, historian in the Karelia region of Russia, has been imprisoned on trumped-up charges of sexual abuse. These charges appear to be retaliation for his work with the Memorial society to document the human rights violations and mass murders by the Soviet Union under Stalin. Recently, two years have been added to his sentence; and, despite his age, he is being moved to a maximum security prison.
