Palestinian Astrophysicist Released From Administrative Detention After Year in Israeli Prison

On May 31, 2021, Professor at Al Quds University, Imad Barghouthi, was released from Israeli administrative detention, allegedly for a post he made on Facebook. The Committee of Concerned Scientists (“CCS”) wrote the courts on his behalf requesting that he be released if he was not going to be legally charged with a criminal offense. Barghouthi was held for the past year in administrative detention prior to release.
