Wang Yu, one of the Human Rights attorneys who was detained in the round-up of human rights lawyers in China in July 2015 was released after providing a forced confession following two years in detention. They (she and her husband, who was also detained) have been housed in a remote village of Ulanhot and her entire family is under continued surveillance, both live persons and cameras. Recently, she tried to send funds to her son but was not allowed to do so. She has now been issued a travel ban and they will not process her passport applications for “reasons of national security.”
