It Is With Great Sadness That CCS Notes the Passing of Its Very Esteemed Former Executive Director, Dorothy Hirsch

Dear All,

We have just been notified that Executive Director Emeritus Dorothy Hirsch passed away Sunday morning. Dorothy was a Pagels Award recipient who, through her work with the Committee of Concerned Scientists, received this prestigious award. Many of Dorothy’s friends were able to attend her funeral.

The family informed us that Dorothy would like anyone who wishes to make a donation in her memory do so to the Committee of Concerned Scientists (www.concernedscientists.org – CCS, PO Box 3708, Silver Spring, MD 20918). CCS will send letters of acknowledgement to Dorothy’s children notifying them of your kindness in memory of Dorothy.

Additionally, the CCS Annual Meeting will be held on April 2 at New York University. CCS will hold a memorial for Dorothy. If anyone would like to attend they are most welcome, or if you have a statement you would like shared at the meeting please forward it to the current CCS Executive Director, Carol Valoris at CarolValoris@concernedscientists.org. Please notify Carol if you are coming to the meeting as well and she can provide you with the necessary information.
