Omid Kokabee
Medical tests performed on Omid Kokabee have revealed, that after years of seeking medical care that was not responded to, he has been diagnosed with kidney cancer. Kokabee began complaining of pain in 2011 but was ignored. CCS has written Iranian authorities on several occasions requesting that his medical concerns be addressed and that he receive proper care.
On April 16, 2016, it was determined that Kokabee has a malignant tumor in his kidney and needs an immediate nephrectomy to remove all or part of his kidneys. Iran’s Attorney General gave permission for him to be transferred to a specialized hospital for the surgery. CCS requests that upon release from the hospital, Kokabee be released from prison and returned to his family for continued care and treatment of his cancer; and, that his conviction be overturned.
