Parents in Re-Education Camps – Children in Orphanages

In an attempt to eradicate the Uyghur culture and force them to integrate into the Han population, Chinese authorities are removing parents from their homes and placing them in brainwashing centers called “re-education camps.” While the parents are there the children are placed in orphanages and also “re-educated” so that they will no long practice the culture and religion of their ancestors. Some children do not find their way back to their parents and end up in foster homes. They start off in secured, centralized large boarding facilities and then are moved, not always returned to their parents.
